GTRI co-op employment
GTRI’s co-op program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state-of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. A GTRI co-op experience can escalate your future career success by giving you opportunities to make professional contacts and gain skills that make potential employers take notice. The program allows you to alternate semesters of full-time school with semesters of full-time work for GTRI.
Requirements
All co-ops must meet the following criteria:
- Complete at least one semester with a declared major that supports a GTRI laboratory job description
- Be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Complete a co-op interview with a GTRI representative
- Be able to work a flexible schedule
- Be a U.S. citizen
Co-op Opportunities
The following laboratories or support units currently have co-op opportunities available:
- Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems (ATAS)
- Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS)
- Electro-Optics, Environment, and Materials Laboratory (EOEML)
- ESD/ISD
- Huntsville Research Laboratory (HRL)
- Information Technology and Telecommunications Laboratory (ITTL)
- Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL)
- Signatures Technology Laboratory (STL)
How to Apply
There are two separate application processes—one for Georgia Tech students and one for non-Georgia Tech applicants.
Georgia Tech Applicants
- Visit the Georgia Tech Division of Professional Practice Web site or email gt.coop@coop.gatech.edu to schedule a meeting with an adviser to determine if you are qualified for the co-op program and positions at GTRI
- Schedule a co-op interview with a GTRI representative. Please note: co-op interviews for all Georgia Tech students must be scheduled through the Georgia Tech Division of Professional Practice
- Complete a student employment application and return it to your co-op adviser
Non-Georgia Tech Applicants
- Contact your institution's Cooperative Division or student employment representative to determine your eligibility for co-op opportunities
- Request a statement of eligibility be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to:
